The annual Lymington Meet will take place on Saturday 20 May 17, at the Royal Lymington Yacht Club with racing in the Western Solent.
The format will be similar to previous years with two friendly yacht races, one starting not before 0945 hours and the other at approximately 1330 hours. The morning race will be for REYC yachts only. The afternoon race will include a team of three RLYC yachts competing in a friendly inter club match for the Carlier Trophy. The first three yachts home in the morning race will represent the REYC in the match within the race in the afternoon.
Note that these are designed to be friendly races, due to insurance restrictions. There will then be a reception in the Royal Lymington Yacht Club starting at 1815 hours, followed by supper. These are subsidised by the REYC and will be £8 per person for the reception and £28 for the three-course supper with wine.
The event is very much a social gathering of Sapper sailors, and members are encouraged to bring family and friends. If you are not able to bring a boat, why not come along for the reception and supper?
I will need details of your boat, if you wish me to reserve a berth for you at the Lymington Yacht Haven, no later than 31 Mar 17 and numbers for supper by no later than 28 April 2017.
An earlier indication of attendance would be welcome. I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at Lymington in May.
